We're looking for a part-time Storeroom Controller


We help individuals and families in short term crisis, through the provision of emergency food supplies. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time (20 hours per week) Storeroom Controller. Experience as a stock-controller or as a store manager is required. The job involves lifting of heavy boxes with groceries and the applicant must hold a valid driving licence. Job Description: Storeroom Controller

Hours: Part-time position (twenty hours per week)

Rate of Pay: €9 per hour plus government bonus

Start Date: July 2019

Base: St Andrew’s House, 210 Old Bakery St, Valletta

Experience: Experience of working with stock storage systems

Knowledge:

  • Understands the ethos behind food banks and sympathetic to the cause.

  • Understands the principal of stock rotation.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Self-motivated

  • Must hold a driving licence and be an experienced driver.

  • Able to work alone but also within a team.

  • Tasks: Working Hours Tuesday: 7.00 – 12.30,

  • Thursday 12.00 – 20.00

  • Friday: 7.00 – 12.30

  • 1 extra hour to be worked as necessary.

  • Co-ordinate with Manager where food will be kept in store rooms.

  • Keep storerooms tidy.

  • Ensure items are stored by date order.

  • Ensure items are stored in an orderly manner.

  • Keep records of items in different storage facilities.

  • Ensure easy access to sored items.

  • Ensure shelves in Distribution Room stocked between shifts.

  • Stock Rotation in Distribution Room – ensure every item is stocked in date order.

  • Report Stock Shortages.

  • Receive deliveries on Thursday morning and store appropriately.

  • Work with volunteers to organise boxes for distribution centres.

  • Build up relationships with volunteers

  • Meet for 1 hour per week with Foodbank Manager.

  • Any other work occasionally deemed necessary by agreement with your line manager.

Line manager: The Foodbank Project Coordinator (Ross Yarnold)

Accountability: Board of Directors.
